I believe that in working with children you must not judge them on how they are in the day but “what they have been through at night.”
I graduated from Marshall University in 2005 with a major in Psychology and a minor in World History. Immediately after, I began work as an intern and assistant in a state mental facility. Thereafter I became a highly qualified teacher to children of emotional and behavioral disabilities. In 2009, I became a part of the Madeline Centre team and it has been a joy ever since. I feel that working with children is a privilege and a blessing, which never gives me a dull moment.
Children are curious and are risk takers. They have lots of courage. They venture out into a world that is immense and dangerous. A child initially trusts life and the processes of life. (John Bradshaw)
