Danny Thomas, In Home Therapist
For nothing is fixed, forever and forever and forever,
it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the
light is always changing, the sea does not cease to
grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born,
and we are responsible to them because we are the only
witnesses they have. The sea rises, the light fails,
lovers cling to each other, and children cling to us.
The moment we cease to hold each other, the sea
engulfs us and the light goes out. -James Baldwin

My name is Danny Thomas and I have for the better part of my life, had the privilege to do that which I believe to be the greatest commission – help mold young hearts and minds. I graduated from Averett University with a degree in Sociology. My two sons
Daniel and Derek have truly enriched my life. Both of whom are married and have reached that imaginary point where children believe they are grown (self included). They also have kids of their own. A large part of my life has been spent in education. I taught
at the college level for ten years at Danville Community College, later at the high school level, and my most recent vocation was as a social worker. While my boys were coming up, I wore every hat from little league baseball coach to Scout Master with the Boy
Scouts of America. Throughout each juncture of my life, one common theme has always remained, the development of children and young people to be happy and contributing members of the world around us.

I am very excited about the opportunity to work at the Madeline Centre and look forward to continuing my legacy of helping children.
