“Listen to the mustn’t’s, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shoulnd’t’s, the impossibles, the wont’s. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
-Shel Silverstein
Being a part of the Madeline Centre has given me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the children of our community. I am inspired to help children find the hope, confidence, and passion to create dreams for themselves, while introducing the resources, support, and skills to help make those dreams a reality.
I am a graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. During my time at UVA, I was an active member of the Young Women Leaders Program, a mentoring program for at-risk teenage females in the Charlottesville community. I was also a research assistant for the Early Steps Project, a research study designed to provide family-centered intervention services to children and their families.
The brilliant smiles, joyful laughs, and tender hugs of my one-year old son, Colton, motivate me to spread happiness and encouragement to the lives of others. There is no greater joy than the love of a child.
