The Madeline Centre has recently added a very exciting new program to our services. Our Behavioral & Autism Services (BAS) Program is now available to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or disruptive behaviors and functional communication challenges. Additionally, these services are available to those children transitioning back into the community from an “out-of-home” placement.
Many families feel overwhelmed by the needs and demands of these children. Our clinicians work in the home of the child and family for 5 to 12 hours per week providing them support through direct behavioral therapy, parent trainings, crisis management, and linking with community resources.
TMC clinicians use the principles of ABA, Applied Behavior Analysis, to increase functional communication, improve social skills, and reduce challenging behaviors. We also stress the importance of building positive relationships and implement positive parenting approach. Services are provided under the supervision and training of Ms. Cherie Arnn, who is a BCBA, Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, with over 20 years of experience working with families and children who have Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The success of the behavioral intervention depends upon mutual support between families and professionals. So, we also offer parent support groups, consultation, and professional training. The Madeline Centre is dedicated to the continual improvement of programs for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and actively serve as advocates in all the communities we serve.
Behavioral and Autism Services
Description
The Madeline Centre, Inc (TMC) is pleased to offer specialized treatment for children and adolescents affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our services are typically provided in a home based setting, but can also occur in a clinic, community or school setting in addition to the in-home sessions. Sessions are spread out throughout the week over 10-12 hours, with hours being dependent upon the level of need. Treatment services are based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis and are intended to strengthen adaptive functioning, increase communication and social skills and teach more appropriate positive behaviors so that a child is better able to get his/her needs met.
TMC recognizes the vital role the family plays in the care and well being of a child with autism. To foster this relationship and ensure continued success, TMC provides extensive training for the family on clinically designed behavioral modification strategies to be used in the home/community setting.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) provide clinical supervision and oversight to all therapists working with a child with an ASD.
