I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia. My clinical experience spans over 12 years and in that time I have worked with adolescents, adults, and families. While at the Jefferson School Residential Treatment Center, I worked with youth that had mental illnesses as a counselor. I assisted in creating individualized plans for the youth, counseled them in coping with their mental illness(es), and helped them to achieve their goals. I worked in a similar position with adults with mental illness at a program called Turning Point in Hagerstown, MD. I have worked with at-risk youth in a school setting as well by teaching art at the Jefferson School.
I am bringing my varied experiences to the Madeline Centre with hopes of enriching the lives of the clients I work with. I entered in this field because I find it rewarding to help others, especially assisting them in setting and achieving goals that will serve them in life.
When I am not spending time with my children, I am usually involved in some type of creative endeavor that involves drawing or painting. Just about any beach is my favorite place. I am a sports fan, with football, mixed martial arts, and basketball being among my top three favorites.
