Job Training

The Madeline Centre is committed to maximizing the potential of each staff member to best serve our clients. We believe that therapists do best when they are excited about their jobs and are growing and learning personally and professionally. Through a combination of individual and group clinical supervision, in-service training, and use of other training resources, we bring state-of-the-art training to our staff. We are always in the process of finding more creative and effective ways to deliver our services. Our treatment utilizes a number of techniques such as play therapy, bibliotherapy, art therapy, guided imagery, relaxation training, nutritional counseling, journaling, anger management, social skills building, and family counseling. Our approach is one that uses a combination of therapies such as reality therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, solution client oriented therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Staff are supported in all of the above areas and encouraged to develop their own unique talents and training and share with the other staff. Therapists also have the opportunity to pursue their licensure under the supervision of Jon Winder, the Clinical Director.

When a person comes to The Madeline Centre to work, he/she is not just becoming an employee, but also a member of a family with a rich tradition exemplified by Madeline, who is Dr. Berkley’s mother. This is part of the “specialness” of The Madeline Centre.
