ETHICS AND COUNSELING

The Madeline Centre is in the process of training all new and existing staff about ethics and counseling.  The purpose of this training is to protect the rights of our clients and their families and to improve the professionalism of the staff.  Ethics begins with caring about our clients and our effect on them.  The Madeline Centre prides itself in our caring attitude and putting the client first.  Our clients have many needs, and it is easy to want to respond to all of those needs.  Yet our purpose is to enable them to learn to meet their own needs. We want to be there for the clients, but not to foster dependency.  Sometimes this is a thin line.  By linking our families with community resources, we are able to teach them how to access the help they need.  Read More »

MORE DAY TREATMENT PROGRAMS

The Madeline Centre is continuing to grow.  We have been asked to do our Treatment Program in the alternative schools in Danville and Charlotte County.  In nearly all of the schools where we have Day Treatment, our programs are at capacity.

We are also increasing our staff training to new modules that allow for more direct supervision and hands on experience.

In order to meet the growing needs in our programs to serve more people, we continue to recruit qualified staff.  Part of plan for this is an new internship program, which we are planning.  The program will provide individual and group supervision and on the job experience for Master’s level students.  They will be supervised by our licensed staff and currently we have six interns in that program.  We are excited about the possibility of training new staff, who bring with the much enthusiasm, curiosity, and energy to our programs.  We feel that it is part of our mission to train new therapists and to foster their knowledge and commitment to serve the population we serve.
